MEET THE FOUNDER

Hi, I’m Wazarat Hussain—and here’s the quick timeline of how I went from bank teller counters to building next‑gen payments:

  • 2019: Finished a BComm in Finance at Toronto Metropolitan University. As an undergrad student, I also cut my teeth in retail banking, learning where traditional rails stumble.

  • 2020‑21: Earned a six‑month Fintech Certification at the University of Toronto, which opened my eyes to blockchain’s promise and sent me hopping between North American crypto conferences, interviewing the people shaping Web3.

  • 2022 - 24: Dived deep into crypto research, zeroing in on web3, blockchain, and crypto solutions and publishing reports that tried to make sense of it all for everyday readers.

  • 2024‑25: Wrapped up a Master’s in Financial Innovation & Technology at Queen’s University’s Smith School of Business; my focus shifted to how multi‑currency stablecoins could smooth cross‑border trade.

  • 2025: Turned that research into action by founding canhav.io, now housed at Queen’s Dunin‑Deshpande Innovation Centre, where I am designing payment rails that peg one coin to several currencies.

My goal is simple: turn hard‑won research into human‑friendly tools that let businesses move money faster, cheaper, and fairer than ever before.
